Comment:
This is a hypothetical protein determined by similarity to a counterpart in HSV-1. Ward et al.(1996) report a new gene in HSV-1 antisense to UL43, which they designate UL43.5. They describe it as a low abundance nuclear protein which accumulates in assemblons, is dispensible for growth in cell culture and has gamma expression regulation.
