Viewing the linear map
To switch from the circular map to the linear map, click the Linear Map button in the lower left corner of the applet display.

The linear map portrays the double stranded genome in rows.  The coordinate for the last nuclotide in the row is displayed adjacent to the genome.    If the map's scale factor is one, individual nucleotides will be colored according to this legend: 
Intergenic regions have dull nucleotide colors, and genes have bright nucleotide levels.  Coding regions are annotated with the appropriate codons above and below the DNA strands.

DNA repeat data is displayed between the rows that comprised the genome display.  Repeats are colored coded according to this legend:
