The linear map can be navigated by selecting a coordinate of interest from the scrollable list of available coordinates on the right half of the applet's control panel and/or by selecting a gene of interest from the gene list on the top of the control panel.

 
 

Notes:
 

• The display can be shifted forward one row using the '+1' button on the right half of the control panel and backward one row using the '-1' button.

• If the 'Gene Detail Panel' option is selected, navigating the linear map via selection from the gene list, the Gene Detail Panel will be displayed.  If this behavior is not desired, deselect the 'Gene Detail Panel' option of the left side of the control panel.

• Unlike the circular map, navigating the linear map is the same regardless of the scale factor in use.
